Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload jumps to 107,755 with 2,071 new cases

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) confirmed 2,071 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal in the past 24 hours.

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) confirmed 2,071 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal in the past 24 hours. 


Of the total 12,427 real-time PCR tests, those cases were detected, said the ministry’s Spokesperson, Dr Jageshwar Gautam, through a virtual media briefing on Sunday afternoon.

Since the country reported the first case on January 23 earlier this year, Nepal has witnessed a total of 107,755 cases including 75,804 recoveries and 636 deaths. 


Meanwhile, the country on Sunday reported the highest single-day death cases due to the COVID-19 infection as 22 more people succumbed to this viral infection  in the past 24 hours. 


The Kathmandu Valley reported 1,416 new cases taking the total caseload to 41,586.
