Anil Mandal, who completed half century, and Sagar Pun were unbeaten at the close of the day in reply to Hong Kong's first inning total of 215/4. Despite losing opener Mahesh Chhetri (10) with only 21 runs on the board, Anil remained unbeaten at 56 runs. He smashed 10 boundaries and shared unbeaten 85 runs stand with Sagar Pun (38 runs) with the later smashing five fours. Nepal will resume its first inning on Friday.Earlier, Hong Kong, opting to bat first after winning the toss, declared its inning playing 60 overs. Number 3 batsman Babar Hayat scored highest 68 runs remaining unbeaten and Nazakat Khan contributed 48 runs. Babar hit nine fours and Nizakat smashed three sixes and four boundaries.
Hong Kong made solid start with opener Anshuman Rath, retired out, on 42 runs, and Kinchit Shah (29) sharing 61 runs partnership.
Basant Regmi broke the partnership after Kinchit was caught by stand-in skipper Gyanendra Malla in the 24.2 overs before Anshuman got retired out. Basant also bagged wicket of Jamie Atkinson (12).
Anshuman shared 41 runs for the second wicket with Babar and the latter shared 81 runs with Nizakat for the third wicket. Nizakat was caught by Naresh Budhayer off Karan KC.
