Nepal records 639 new cases, 1,600 recoveries and three deaths on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: As many as 1,600 people recovered from COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population. Similarly, Nepal recorded 639 new cases of COVID-19 with three deaths from the deadly virus on the same day.

As many as 9,756 samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 454 PCR and 185 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 18,433 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 17,580 are in self-isolation, 671 in institutional isolation, 156 in ICU’s and 26 on ventilators. Similarly, 112 are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,905 people have died from the virus across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 199 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 162 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, 12 in Bhaktapur and 25 in Lalitpur districts.
