KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Nepal registered 59 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, along with 161 recoveries and zero death from the virus, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 2,882 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Of them, 25 PCR and 34 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.
Across the nation, there are now 1,848 active cases of COVID-19. Of them, 1,766 are isolated by themselves, 64 are in institutional isolation and 18 are in intensive care units. So far, 12,016 people have died of the viral disease nationwide.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 12 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Of them, nine cases were recorded in Kathmandu, one in Bhaktapur, and two in Lalitpur districts.
