KATHMANDU, Jan 15: Nepal recorded 4,636 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 350 recoveries and four deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 14,556 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 3,703 PCR and 933 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 21,729 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 20,536 are in home isolation, 1,048 in institutional isolation, 119 in ICUs, and 26 on ventilators. Similarly, 126 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,617 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 2,219 cases of the virus on Saturday. Of them, 1,591 were recorded in Kathmandu, 142 in Bhaktapur, and 486 in Lalitpur districts.
