Nepal records 38 cases, 269 recoveries and zero death on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, March 23: Nepal recorded 38 new cases of COVID-19 along with 269 recoveries and zero death from the deadly virus on Wednesday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

As many as 5,376 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 34 PCR and four antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

There are currently 2,476 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 2,409 are in self-isolation, 44 in institutional isolation, 21 in ICUs, and two on ventilators. Similarly, 106 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,951 people have died from the virus across the country.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 16 cases of COVID-19 on the day, of which all of them were recorded in Kathmandu district.
