Nepal records 246 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Aug. 2: As many as 246 new cases of coronavirus were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said.


At a virtual press meet, spokesperson for the ministry Jageshwar Gautam said that the country's COVID-19 tally has jumped to 20,332 after the confirmation of 246 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Spokesperson Gautam also shared that 111 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 were discharged after recovery across the country. "With this, the country's COVID-19 recovery count has climbed to 14, 603," Gautam said.


According to him, 57 persons have succumbed to the coronavirus infection as of today.
