Nepal records 227 cases, 168 recoveries and one death on Thursday

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: According to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Nepal registered 227 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, along with 168 recoveries and one death from the virus.

As many as 4,401 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 136 PCR and 90 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

Across the nation, there are now 2,498 active cases of COVID-19. Of them, 2,370 are isolated by themselves, 103 are in institutional isolation, 22 are in intensive care units, and three are on ventilators. So far, 12,010 people have died of the viral disease nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 56 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 41 cases were recorded in Kathmandu, two in Bhaktapur, and 13 in Lalitpur districts.
