KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Nepal recorded 1,957 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, along with 5,103 recoveries and 11 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 12,692 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 1,184 PCR and 773 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
There are currently 36,475 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 34,983 are in self-isolation, 1,198 in institutional isolation, 256 in ICUs, and 38 on ventilators. Similarly, 140 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,838 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 451 cases of the virus on Tuesday. Of them, 338 were recorded in Kathmandu, 43 in Bhaktapur, and 70 in Lalitpur districts.
