Kathmandu alone records the highest of 505 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours


KATHMANDU, April 19: Nepal recorded 1,281 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The number includes 528 individuals belonging to 20 to 39 years of age.


Of the total 7,001 PCR tests and 547 antigen tests conducted in the past 24 hours, 1,281 had tested positive for the virus.

As many as eight fatalities linked to the COVID-19 were also reported in the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).


Of the 1,281 new cases detected on Monday, 505 were recorded in Kathmandu district alone.


According to the MoHP, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Banke are among the districts with more than 500 COVID-19 patients currently undergoing treatments in various hospitals.


There are currently 148 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in Intensive Care Units and 43 others on ventilator support, according to the latest data released by the MoHP.
