Nepal records 1,014 new cases, 1,628 recoveries and 20 deaths linked with COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Nepal recorded 1,014 new cases, 1,628 recoveries and 20 deaths linked with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past one day.

Of the newly-infected, 370 are females and 644 are males, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. In the past 24 hours, as many as 6220 PCR tests were carried out. 

The ministry stated that 241,995 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Nepal as of Monday.

The country has now a total of 12,948 active cases of the coronavirus. As many as 227,433 people who earlier tested positive for the virus have been recovered as of today.

Altogether, 1,614 people, including 20 in the past one day, have succumbed to COVID-19 across Nepal so far, the ministry said in its daily COVID-19 updates on Monday.
