Nepal receives Rs 400 billion in remittances in three months

The number of Nepalis who obtained final labor approval (both institutional and individual - new) for foreign employment reached 110,654, while 59,939 received re-labor approval.

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The remittance coming into Nepal has increased by double digits. In the first three months of the current fiscal year, remittance exceeding Rs 400 billion has entered Nepal.


According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance has increased by 11.5 percent, reaching Rs 413.1 billion. In the same period last year, the remittance inflow had increased by 25.8 percent.

Remittance inflow in US dollars has reached 3.4 billion. In the previous year, this inflow was US$ 2.76 billion. During the review period, net secondary income (net transfers) has reached Rs 442.44 billion. In the same period last year, it was Rs 447 billion.


Additionally, the number of Nepalis who obtained final labor approval (both institutional and individual - new) for foreign employment reached 110,654, while 59,939 received re-labor approval. In the same period last year, these numbers were 113,397 and 49,297, respectively.
