KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Nepal has advanced to the semi-finals of the WAFF Women's Championship, securing their place by defeating Palestine 4-0 in their final group match.
As the winners of Group 'B', Nepal's impressive performance at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was highlighted by Sabitra Bhandari's two goals, with Rekha Poudel and Gita Rana contributing one goal each.
Remaining undefeated after winning all three of their Group 'B' matches, Nepal is set to face the runner-up of Group 'A', Lebanon, in the semi-finals. Despite their loss to Nepal, Palestine also advanced to the semi-finals as the runners-up of Group 'B' and will compete against Jordan, the winners of Group 'A'.
The semi-final clash between Nepal and Lebanon is scheduled for Tuesday and will take place at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium.
