Bhattarai has also decided not to furnish any clarifications. Alleging that the current Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government was against development and against the people, Bhattarai in his resignation letter has said that it is difficult to fulfill his responsibility as the general manager of Nepal Railway Company under the current government.

Bhattarai had earlier courted a serious controversy as he was involved in criticizing the top leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and leaders close to him in his social media posts. The KP Oli-led government had appointed him  as the GM of the Nepal Railway Company.
