Nepal Prosperity Institute organizes ‘Students with Governor’

KATHMANDU, March 31: Nepal Prosperity Institute organized a ‘Students with Governor’ interaction at the Laboratory School, Kathmandu, on Friday, it said. According to the organizers, the event was organized to celebrate ‘Global Money Week 2017’ in Nepal with the aim of familiarizing young people with financial literacy.

Addressing more than 200 students, Nepal Rastriya Bank (NRB) Governor Chiranjibi Nepal talked about the importance of teaching children the value of money and finance. Members of the family and school staff should talk with children about money, he said.

“Students should be taught the importance of money and be shown that no amount is too small to save,” he said, urging students to explore products and services offered by bank and financial institutions and to use them.

Nepal said events like Global Money Week should be celebrated all across the country to teach every student the value of money, saving and investment. 

Prakash Koirala, brand ambassador of Global Money Week and co-founder of Nepal Prosperity Institute, said it was important that every young person knew about the banking and financial situation of the country.

NRB representatives, students, and officials and representatives of various bank and financial institutions were present at the event.

Nepal Prosperity Institute said it had been celebrating Global Money Week by organizing interactions and educational events in various schools and colleges across the country in partnership with various organizations.
