KATHMANDU, April 24: Nepal displayed a mixed performance in the ongoing South Asian Regional Qualifiers Tournament for the ITF Asia U-12 Team Tennis Championship on Monday. Nepal won in the boys’ category, while it faced defeat in the girls’. In the boys’ category matches played at the Satdobato Tennis Court, Nepal defeated Bhutan 3-0. 


In boys’ singles category, Nepal’s Aki Zuben Rawat beat Bhutan’s Tashi Nima Chhiring 6-0, 6-0 and Nepal’s Aarav Samrat Hada overcame Bhutan’s Sherab Gelsen 6-0, 6-1.

Likewise, in boys’ doubles, the Nepali pair of Pranab Manandhar and Hada thrashed Bhutan’s Jigme Pema Nagme and Chhiring 6-0, 6-0.  Meanwhile, in girls’ category, India beat Nepal 3-0. 


In girls’ singles, India’s Anjali Rathi defeated Nepal’s Aza Regmi 6-2, 6-2, while India’s Shruti Ahalwat saw off Subhangi Laxmi Shah 6-0, 6-1. 


Likewise, in girls’ doubles, the Indian pair of Durganshi and Rathi overcame Nepali pair comprising of Aisha Dolker Gurung and Shah 6-2, 6-1. 


Also, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in boys’ category, while Sri Lanka beat Bhutan 3-0 in girls’ category.
