Nepal was scheduled to host PNG on October 31 and November 2. However, the new scheduled released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) states that Nepal will organize the two matches of the championship on November 28 and 30 at Tribhuvan University Ground in Kirtipur.
Nevertheless, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is yet to get official information regarding the schedules of the championship.
"We have not been informed about the schedules," said CAN acting General Secretary Uttam Karmacharya.
However, he said CAN had requested to reschedule the championship seeking more time to maintain and upgrade the TU ground. National Sports Council (NSC) has been upgrading the ground which was partially damaged by the devastating earthquake of April 25. Nepal also lost hosting rights of the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers due to the earthquake.
"We had requested new schedules for December because the NSC has informed that the ground will be maintained by end of November," he added.
Meanwhile, CAN Chief Operation Officer Chhumbi Lama said construction and renovation works have been expedited. "We have added extra workers for the maintenance work as ICC officials are expected to visit the ground by the end of August," said Lama.
