The establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and PNG is expected to open new avenues for cooperation between the two countries both at bilateral as well as multilateral levels.

With this, the number of countries with which Nepal has established diplomatic relations has reached 139.

During the signing ceremony, both the ambassadors concurred that this would be an important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries and that with this, bilateral relations will be broadened and deepened for mutual benefit in the years ahead.

Located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. Endowed with mines and other resources, it has become one of the fastest growing economies in the region in recent years.
