The Shreemadbhagawat (a holy book containing mythical stories) will be read out during the event named 'Nepal Mata Mahima Rastriya Birat Mahayagya'. Similarly, worships of Nepal Mata (Motherland) and Panchamahalaxmi (five forms of Goddess Laxmi) will be held on the occasion.
The event has been organised on the occasion of the Nepali New Year 207 BS, wishing for peace, happiness, prosperity, longevity and healthy life of entire Nepali denizens. It is organised by the Akhanda Jyoti Baba Shree Jee Charitable Trust, a religious organization. The funds collected from the religious event will be spent for constructing a temple at Suntol-8, Sankhu in the capital. The event has begun at 25 places in the Kathmandu Valley. The Dhaulagiri Service Society has taken management responsibility of Mahayagya started at Golgutar of Kathmandu.
Inaugurating the ceremony this morning, Swami Kamalnayancharya said the objective of organising the Mahayagya was to protect and promote the Hindu religion, wishing for peace, prosperity and healthy life of the Nepalis. He thanked all those extending valuable support to the event. RSS
