KATHMANDU, April 13: Nepal U-19 national cricket failed to win in its second match against UAE in ongoing ICC Asia Under-19s World Cup Qualifier held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.


Nepal lost to UAE by a single run. Nepal was in strong position, however, due to the rain, UAE won the given by one run using the D/L method.


Chasing 248-run target set by Nepal; UAE scored 122 runs in 30 over losing three wickets before the rain. The game was halted in the last ball of the over after the third wicket was down. As the rain did not stop, the game could not resume and UAE won the game by D/L method.


Kamal Singh Airee and Sagar Dhakal took a single wicket for Nepal. Ansh Tandon (54), Vriitya Aravind (47), Syed Haider (11) and Aryan Lakra (4) scored for UAE.

In the first inning, losing the toss, Nepal scored 247 run losing all 10 wickets in 50 over.


Hari Chauhan and Bhim Sharki scored 67 and 53 runs respectively. Similarly, Rit Gautam (44), Ashif Sheikh (27), Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel (18) and Pawan Sarraf (12) scored for Nepal.


Rishab Mukherjee took four wickets and Mohammed Farazuddin took three wickets for UAE.


Hari Chauhan was the player of the match. 


After the defeat, Nepal is in third position scoring two points in the scoreboard whereas with equal four points, Kuwait is in top position and UAE is in the second position.
