In below 9 years boys´ section, Abhaya Jeet Singh (20-25kg) of India, Shantanu (25-30kg) of India, Avinash Baisa (above 30kg) of India won gold medals during the second and final day of the event held at the covered hall of the Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu.
In same age group of the girls´ section, Sani Tamang (below 20kg) of Nepal, Anuska Panta (20-25kg) of Nepal and Anuska Thapa (25-30kg) of Nepal secured first positions in their respective weight categories.
In below 12 years boys´ section, Nabin Pun (below 25kg) of Nepal, Karan Veer (25-30kg) of India, Sunil Ghale (30-35kg) of Nepal, Amit Geel (35-40kg) of India, Karls Sharma (40-45kg) of Nepal and Anmol Deep Singh (above 45kg) of India bagged gold.
In same age group of girls´ category, Sushmita Tamang (below 25kg) of Nepal, Samriddhi Aryal (25-30kg) of Nepal and Apeksha Belbase (30-35kg) of Nepal clinched gold.
In below 16 years boys´ section, Ashish Pal (below 35kg) of Nepal, Sabin Pandey (35-40kg) of Nepal, Aakash Pal (40-45kg) of Nepal, Sujan Ghale (40-45kg) of Nepal, Nirajan Magar (50-55kg) of Nepal, Dikesh Maharjan (55-60kg) of Nepal, Mehak Deep Singh (60-65kg) of India, and Richard Rai (above 65kg) of Nepal clinched gold.
In same age category of girls´, Karuna Maharjan (40-45kg) of Nepal, Surakchya Pal (45-50kg) of Nepal, Rekha Tamang (50-55kg) of Nepal and Ashmita Chhyantal (55-60kg) of Nepal won gold.
In above 16 years boys´, Abin Nakarmi (below 50kg) of Nepal, Sailesh Rai (50-55kg) of Nepal, Subha Thapa (55-60kg) of Nepal, Paras Chhyantal (60-65kg) of Nepal, Dinesh Maharjan (65-70kg) of Nepal and Safwan (above 70kg) of India won gold.
251 players from Nepal and 65 players from India participated in the two-day tournament.
Neupane elected president
Man Bahadur Neupane was unanimously elected as the president of Nepal Rafting and Cannoning Association on Saturday for a four-year term from its second general assembly. Along with president, the 18-members central committee was also unanimously elected.
Surya Prasad Joshi was elected the senior vice-president while Krishna Prasad Ghale and Binod Prasad Pant are the vice-presidents. Kumar Ranabhat was elected general secretary and Uttam Baniya Chhetri the treasurer.
