Nepal-India border security officials discuss controlling cross-border thefts and smugglings

RAUTAHAT, May 28: The meeting of border security officials of Nepal and India has been held in Sitamarhi, Bihar, India.


A joint meeting of the security officers of the districts of Nepal bordering Sitamarhi district of Bihar province, India was held in Sitamarhi on Saturday.

Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sarlahi, Indradev Yadav said that the issues of controlling theft and smuggling, control of narcotic drugs and alcohol, information exchange, control of illegal currency transactions and security sensitivity were discussed in the meeting.


Officials of Sarlahi, Mahottari and Rautahat of Nepal and Sitamarhi district of India participated in the meeting.


The team led by the CDO of Mahottari included CDO of Mahottari, Sarlahi and Rautahat, Assistant Chief District Officers of Mahottari and Sarlahi, Superintendents of Police of Nepal Police of all three districts, Superintendents of Police of Armed Police Force of Nepal, Deputy Director of National Investigation and Heads of Customs of all three districts participated.


Similarly, on behalf of India, under the leadership of the CDO of Sitamarhi District, Superintendent of Police, Chief of Customs and officials of SSB participated.


CDO Yadav of Sarlahi mentioned that the discussion between the border officials of both countries was completed in a cordial atmosphere and the discussion was successful.
