Nepal in China's special priority list: Chinese envoy

KATHMANDU, July 19: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai has said that the new leadership of China has put Nepal under its special priority list.



At a meeting with the Araniko Society office-bearers and Nepali media persons here Friday, he said the Nepal visit by Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechia and the visit to China by UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhya and by CoAS Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana, who left today for China, are testimony of the fact that Nepal has been accorded a special priority. He also said that the age-old relations between Nepal and China are based on mutual cooperation, and added that China was already ready to extend its support to resolve the political and socio-economic problems facing Nepal.



President of the Society Dr Sarbottam Shrestha lauded China´s support to Nepal´s development endeavours while stressing on the need to take the bilateral relations to the people´s level.
