KATHMANDU, June 30: Nepal has imported paddy and rice grains worth Rs 20 billion in the 11 months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Nepal has imported over 305 million kilograms of paddy grains worth Rs 11.55 billion by mid-June of the fiscal year 2023/24.
Similarly, during that time, Nepal imported 82.7 million kilograms of rice which means that rice grains worth Rs 8.69 billion were imported.
According to the statistics, Nepal imported paddy seeds worth Rs 8.65 million and imported broken rice grains worth Rs 920,000.
