KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Nepal has been elected as a member of the Organizational Committee of the United Nations Peace Building Commission (PBC) for two years effective from January 1 next year. According to a press release from New York-based Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN, Wednesday, Nepal has been elected as one of the top five Troop Contributing Countries in UN Peace Keeping Operations. The Peace Building Commission, established in 2006 by the concurrent General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, is a new intergovernmental advisory body that supports peace efforts in countries emerging from conflicts.
