KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Nepal defeated Malaysia by 19 runs in its third match in the Asian Cup Qualifiers game.

The game had started late and was reduced to 30 overs each side due to rain. In its alloted over, Nepal had scored 188 runs at the loss of seven wickets. Dipendra Singh Airee (54) and Arif Sheikh (64) scored the highest runs to guide Nepal to a bigger total. Remaining batsmen had faltered and scored below 20 runs.
Basanta Regmi took three wickets while Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami took two wickets each to guide Nepal to its victory.
