Nepal condemns Norway attacks

KATHMANDU, July 23: Nepal has strongly condemned the bomb blast in Oslo and indiscriminate firing in the island of Utoeya that killed at least 92 people in Norway on Friday.



In separate messages sent to their respective counterparts on Saturday, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav have expressed heartfelt condolence to the victims´ families.[break]

 

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news about the loss of precious lives and property in the bomb blast in Oslo and the indiscriminate firing in the island of Utoeya in Norway. We denounce and strongly condemn such dastardly acts of terrorism,” President Dr Yadav has said in the message sent to Norwegian King Herald V.



Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has also extended heartfelt sympathies to the government and people of Norway and the members of the bereaved families. “We strongly condemn such acts of terrorism in all forms and manifestations,” the read the message sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.  



Likewise, Minister Yadav in his message to Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store while condemning the “cowardly acts of terrorism” has expressed confidence that the government and people of Norway would be able to withstand the suffering with enough courage and defeat the scourge of terrorism.
