KATHMANDU, May 8: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and subsequent India's military response, Nepal has called on both nations to exercise restraint and prioritize regional peace and stability.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Thursday, Nepal reiterated its strong stance against terrorism “in all its forms and manifestations” and expressed solidarity with India in this time of mourning.

“Nepal shall not allow any inimical forces to use its soil against its neighbouring countries,” the statement read, reaffirming Nepal’s longstanding commitment to peace, non-alignment, and non-interference.
Nepal has urged both India and Pakistan to seek a peaceful resolution to the crisis, underscoring the importance of enduring stability and cooperation in South Asia. While condemning the Pahalgam attack, which claimed at least 26 lives including that of a Nepali national, Nepal also emphasized its support for diplomacy and regional harmony.
