Winning its both matches, Nepal leads the group A standings with six points. It enjoys three-point cushion over Iran, which thumped Sri Lanka 11-1 in the day's other match. Nepal had toiled hard to beat Iran 3-2 on the opening day, Monday.
Though Sri Lanka also has three points, Iran enjoys a superior goal difference against the former.
Making a dominant start, Nepal took three goals lead just six minutes into the game, scoring the first three goals in a span two minutes.
Manjali Kumari broke the deadlock slotting home from a close range after Saru Limbu sent in a lofty corner in the second minute. Manisha made it 2-0 scoring from inside the box capitalizing on Ashmita Vaidya's pass before Rekha added another low shot with her solo effort.
Rekha scored her second in the 12th minute after Manjali Kumari supplied a pass from the right which was flicked by Samjhana Lawati.
Rekha completed her hat-trick three minutes later, before Manisha scored her second in the 26th minute.
Samjhana opened Nepal's scoring in the second half by making it 7-0 in the 54th minute before Nirmala scored Nepal's remaining goals. She opened her scoring in the 57th minute, doubled it in the 66th minute and scored her third goal in the 70th minute.
Attributing his team's dominant win to good team coordination and build up, Nepal's coach Kishore KC said Tuesday's match was perfect preparation for the match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
"We need not toil hard for today's win as our coordination was wonderful and goals flew in spontaneously," he said.
"This served as the perfect preparation for match against Sri Lanka. We played with a cautious approach as we are also concerned about player's safety."
Maldives coach Kawamoto Naoko accepted that his team was no match to the home opponent.
"We enjoyed the match. It was a great experience playing against Nepal, which is fast on attack and keeps possession of the ball," he said.
Meanwhile, Fatameh Ghasemi scored four goals (2nd, 25th, 49thand 61st minutes) for Iran in its thumping of Sri Lanka. Fatameh Amiri (11', 22'), Golnoosh Khosravi (17' 37'), Maral Torkaman (19', 35+1') and Zhino Peykari (67') also contributed in Iran's scoring. Warnakalsuriya Mahmuthukala scored the consolation goal for Sri Lanka in the 64th minute.
In another match of the day, India held arch rival India to a goalless stalemate earlier at the Dasharath Stadium.
Bangladesh took a lead through Marzia in the 20th minute, before Indian skipper Sonu Kumari restored parity five minutes later.
India has already reached semifinals with four points. Bangladesh has one point with one match in hand.
