Nepal Army inaugurates special photos exhibition on occasion of its establishment day

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Nepalese Army on Tuesday inaugurated a special exhibition of its photos and units on the premises of the Army Headquarters on the occasion of the establishment day of the organization. 

According to a press statement issued by the Nepalese Army’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Prabhu Ram Sharma inaugurated the expo amidst a function on Tuesday. Photos reflecting the activities of the army from past till present as well as weapons and equipment have been kept on display. The expo will run till five days.

The statement mentions that one can get information about military uniform, band, horse riding, jungle and mountain warfare, special troops, national park and wildlife reserve and peace-keeping after visiting the expo. Activities as well as audio visual of activities related to development and construction works run by the Nepalese Army, disaster management, sports and activities of military schools have also been included in the expo. 

The statement reads, “Arrangement of free entry has been made from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm till January 27. The expo is being organized with an objective of providing an opportunity to the general people to closely observe the military-related activities.” 

On the occasion, Spokesperson for the Nepalese Army Brigadier General Krishna Prasad Bhandari expressed the belief that the general public would get the information about military uniform, military equipment as well as activities of the Nepalese Army from the expo.

The statement further reads, “Ramban Company, Special Unit Brigade and Shreemehar Battalion secured first, second and third positions respectively in the photo competition. Similarly, No 17 Brigade, Ranasher Battalion, Khadgadal Battalion, Bhawani Bax Battalion, Arjunban Battalion, Bhagawatidal Battalion and Sainik Awasiya Mahabidhyalaya, Pokhara, received consolation prizes. Siddhartha Maharjan, Safal Prakash Shrestha and Barsha Shah received first, second and third prizes in the competition towards the non-military category.”
