ILAM, Oct 21: CPN-UML leader and former Constituent Assembly (CA) Chairman Subas Nembang on Monday ruled out the prospect of drafting new constitution without bringing the poll-opposing parties on-board the election process.

Speaking to reporters here in district headquarters, Nembang said, “The upcoming CA elections could be held by mobilizing the Nepal Army but the promulgation of statute cannot be guaranteed in the absence of CPN-Maoist led alliance."

He stressed on the need of addressing the demands of the dissenting political parties for the meaningful CA election.

He further warned of serious consequences in the country if the next CA also failed to promulgate new constitution.

Talking to the journalists, Nembang insisted on holding talks with poll-opposing parties and fulfilling their just demands for the sake of free, peaceful and fair elections.

Nembang added that people´s rights to take part in elections in a peaceful manner would only be ensured if consensus was forged with the dissenting political parties.
