DHARAN, Oct 5: CPN UML leader and former speaker Subas Nembang termed the recent move by dissident leaders including Ashok Rai to severe ties with the party as an unfortunate.

Speaking at a program in Dharan on Friday, Nembang claimed the party has not witnessed a split yet. "Few leaders have defected the party, it cannot be termed as split," Nembang added. [break]

Rather than forming a new party, Nembang asked the leaders to return to mother party. "A discourse within the party can help resolve the demands," Nembang said.
