PARBAT, Sept 17: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Parbat Distribution Center, has started a campaign to cut the electricity supply of the consumers who have not paid their bills even 60 days after the issuance of the bills.

According to Prakash Kafle, acting head of the Parbat Distribution Center, the work is in full swing to disconnect the electricity supply of the consumers if the bill is not paid within 60 days of the issuance of the bills.

Since the start of the campaign, the electricity supply of 23 households in various places of Kusma Bazaar has been cut off. After the move, 20 consumers have come to the NEA office and paid their dues.

“Rs 206,080 has been recovered after the power-cut campaign,” said Kafle. The campaign which started from the district headquarters, Kusma, is being strictly implemented in all local units of the district.

“The consumers paying their electricity bills on time get a discount. Despite this provision, some people choose not to pay their bills on time. This is shameful,” Kafle said.
