At a press conference organized here on Wednesday, the NEA shared that the load shedding projected for 19 hours a day in the current fiscal year has been reduced to 10 hours now with this measure. [break]
The NEA has taken up reform measures in all areas, said Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudel, adding that the government has put internal reforms on priority.
Chief Secretary Poudel, who is also the chairperson of NEA Board of Directors, said the overall reforms could not be made until the completion of under-construction hydropower projects.
The bid to occupy land for the construction of transmission line required for improving the power distribution system has faced challenges, he further said, adding that efforts are underway to resolve such problems.
The Chief Secretary also informed that power plants would be installed for emergency situation.
On the occasion, NEA Executive Director Rameswor Yadav said that water level has been well maintained in the reservoir of Kulekhani Hydel Project and the capacity of importing electricity from India has also been increased to 154 MW from 135 MW.
