KATHMANDU, Sept 16: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has once again extended the deadline for payment of the disputed tariffs related to dedicated and trunk lines.
The NEA had recently issued a notice to the industries instructing them to clear the arrears within 15 days. However, on Thursday, the authority issued another notice, further extending the deadline by one month.
The dispute over these dues dates back to 2072 BS. After the industrialists brought the issue to the prime minister's attention on September 3, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal instructed Kulman Ghising, the managing director of the NEA, to address the matter.
