KATHMANDU, Dec 30: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has intensified its efforts to address outstanding payments by disconnecting power supply to an additional 14 industries that had previously utilised electricity from dedicated feeders and trunk lines but failed to fulfil their financial obligations, including fees and premiums.
This action follows the NEA's decision to disconnect power lines of customers with electricity arrears exceeding Rs 50 million, a move initiated on December 22. In the initial phase, four industries with arrears surpassing Rs 1 billion experienced power cuts, followed by five more industries. On Friday, the NEA extended the disconnection to an additional 14 industries, targeting a total of 23 customers who were receiving power supply through dedicated feeders and trunk lines.
