KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) on Sunday decided that the Province 3 will be named Bagmati and Heutauda as its province capital.
A meeting of the party secretariat held in Kathmandu took a decision to this effect today morning, according to secretariat member Jhalanath Khanal, who is also the former prime minister.
In accordance with the party's decision, the province committee of the NCP will make a final decision over naming the province and designating the capital of Province 3.
The secretariat meeting, however, failed to decide over picking the NCP candidate for the post of speaker of the House of Representatives.
The meeting also could not take any decision on the fate of the 500 million MCC grant proposed by the United States. The NCP leadership is divided over the endorsement of the MCC grant through the parliament.
