KATHMANDU, Oct 22: The meeting of ruling Nepal Communist Party's central secretariat is scheduled to meet at 1 PM today. The meeting succeeds yesterday's meeting at Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting will dwell into various issues including the party's unification process at the provincial and district levels, formation of district committees and evaluation of the government. Today's meeting succeeds yesterday's meeting of the ruling party where Madhav Kumar Nepal had submitted his note of dissent over the secretariat's earlier decision to appoint office-bearers of provincial committees. Nepal had called the decision as 'unilateral' and 'non-inclusive'.
The disgruntled 'Nepal faction' of the NCP has been demanding to hold the party's standing committee meeting as early as possible to sort out ongoing intra-party disputes.
Leader Nepal has been criticizing the performance of Oli-led government in public forums in recent days. The central secretriat had rejected the resignation submitted by Rambir Manandhar yesterday. Manandhar was elected as the parliamentarian from Kathmandu 7.
