NCP Chair Dahal calls for further buttressing party

KATHMANDU, April 22: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said it is the historic responsibility of the NCP to prepare the basis of socialism by respecting the public mandate and aspirations while defeating the reactionary conspiracy.

Chairman Dahal said this in a statement he issued on Wednesday on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of NCP's founding. Stating that the reactionary forces within and outside the country were constantly making efforts to weaken the NCP even after its historic unification, he urged the party leaders and cadres for further bolstering the party unity through the method of exploring truth by facts after open and democratic discussions within the party.

Party Chair Dahal also called on all the leaders and cadres to comprehend the significance of the party unity and make constructive initiatives as well as contribution from their respective places towards further strengthening the party.

"In the course of 71 years long political struggle, the Communist Movement has not only provided qualitative guidance to the Nepali politics but has also given a new and unique message to the world communist movement as well. Important achievements like the republican governance system, inclusive democracy, socialism-oriented constitution, social justice, among other things, have been made with the support of a hard struggle. The historic party unification done in preparation for socialist revolution by institutionalising the achievements made so far has provided us additional inspiration and energy to be dedicated to our goal," he said in the statement.

Stating that the coronavirus (COVID-19) that has spread globally has become a new challenge for the whole of mankind, NCP Chair Dahal has appealed to all the NCP leaders and cadres, well-wishers and the general public to dedicate themselves in the unified fight against this pandemic by resolutely following the safety measures advised by the experts and collaborating in the efforts made by the government to that end.
