Kathmandu: As many as 57 students of fashion design at Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) organized ‘Journey of Fashion XII’, a graduating fashion show, at Hotel Yak & Yeti on Saturday.

The students, divided into 15 different groups, showcased six different sequences under the theme ‘Ricorrenza De La Moda’ at the event as a part of their academic course. A panel of judges evaluated the students based on their on-stage presentation. The show was organized and managed by the 12th batch of graduating students.  Creative Wear was the star sequence of the show where all 15 groups of students presented 15 exclusive designs inspired by marine life, including plants, sea animals and waves.

Other sequences included ‘Lolita’ which was inspired by Victorian children’s wear and included frills, flounce and laces; ‘Indo-Western’ presented traditional saris mixed with jackets and capes; ‘Street Wear Fashion’ had casual designs; ‘Beauty Queen’ a tribute to NCFT Founder/Principal Gyani Shobha Tuladhar and had designs that played with Dhaka, satin and raw silk; and ‘Corporate Wear’ showed business attires from different workplaces.

Each of the sequences had their unique arrangements choreographed by Rojin Shakya. Models in groups of five and three presented the students’ designs.

Krisha Shrestha, an aspiring fashion student at the NFCT, said she was in awe of NCFT Founder/Principal Tuladhar when she walked the ramp before the ‘Beauty Queen’ was presented. “The fashion show has inspired me and given me a fair idea about the things that I need to do in my coming years.”
