Ncell bags Frost & Sullivan Nepal award

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Ncell Pvt Ltd has been crowned Frost & Sullivan Nepal Mobile Service Provider of the Year 2016 for the second consecutive year. 

The globally recognized award was conferred by international growth partnership company Frost & Sullivan, and is a subset of its prestigious Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards which honors best-in-class companies within a multitude of industries in Asia Pacific, including the Automotive, Energy, Building & Environment, Healthcare and Information Communication Technologies sectors in Asia Pacific.

According to a statement issued by Ncell, the award recipients were evaluated against a set of stringent criteria, based on a variety of actual market performance indicators which include total subscribers, mobile service revenue, blended Average Revenue per User (ARPU) and ARPU growth and service or business model innovation. 

Commenting on the award, Ncell Managing Director Simon Perkins said that the company was humbled that its efforts to focus on customers and fulfill their dynamic connectivity needs have been recognized internationally once again. "Frost & Sullivan undertakes a rigorous evaluation process for this award and the achievement is testament of Ncell's exemplary overall growth and best-in-class performance; and a culmination of the hard work and dedication of all our employees in working towards the socio-economic prosperity of Nepal," he added.

Ncell, which has been operating in Nepal since 2004, became a part of Axiata Group Berhad on April 11, 2016, when the Group bought 100 percent shares of Reyhold Holdings which owns 80 percent shares in the privately owned telecom operator. 

Ncell is serving about 14 million Nepalis, according to the statement.
