KATHMANDU, May 20: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President and Member of Parliament Dhan Raj Gurung has written a letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives demanding action against Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
Gurung alleges that Home Minister Lamichhane attempted to humiliate NC MPs by making baseless and meaningless remarks in Parliament. He has called for action on the grounds of contempt of Parliament, asserting that Lamichhane's speech violated the rules of the House of Representatives.
Gurung also claims that Lamichhane has placed himself above the court by creating confusion among citizens regarding the court's acquittal in his diplomatic/official passport case.
