NC urges govt to begin rescue works for flood victims

KATHMANDU, July1: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) on Friday urged the government to immediately begin rescue works saying that heavy rains have caused floods and landslides across the country.

KATHMANDU, July1: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) on Friday urged the government to immediately begin rescue works saying that heavy rains have caused floods and landslides across the country.



Issuing a press statement today, at NC headquarters Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel asked the government to carry out rescue and relief operations for landslide and flood victims.

"NC is concerned as many people have been missing in different part of countries including Dhading, Gorkha, Dolakha, hundreds of people have been injured and trapped by recent landslides," NC said in the statement.


Meanwhile, NC President Sher Bahadhur Deuba also has appealed to all the party rank and file to involve in rescue of the landslide-hit people.
