NC, UCPN (M) lawmakers instructed to endorse Constitution Amendment Bill

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: UCPN (Maoist) and main opposition party Nepali Congress have issued a whip to their lawmakers to endorse the Constitution Amendment Bill tabled at the Legislature-Parliament.

The two major parties NC and UCPN (Maoist) who had agreed to delay the Constitution Amendment Bill until January 21 for consensus with the agitating parties have issued this whip today itself.

Chief whip of the ruling party UCPN (Maoist)  Hitraj Pandey said he has issued the whip to its lawmakers as per the direction of the party head Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Similarly, NC chief whip Chinkaji Shrestha informed that their party had instructed their lawmakers to this effect on Monday itself.



Both the parties have instructed their lawmakers to be present in the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament slated for January 23 and endorse the Constitution Amendment Bill.

As many as 11 lawmakers have registered their amendment proposals to the Constitution Amendment Bill.


Similarly, NC lawmakers Bimalendra Nidhi, Farmullah Mansur, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minendra Rijal, Romi Gauchan and Saroj Gautam have registered amendment proposals while no amendment proposals have been registered by lawmakers from the CPN-UML lawmakers.
