KATHMANDU, January 8: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has decided to practice ‘Shadow government’.



The meeting of the parliamentary party held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, the party has made the decision to make the effective role of the party in the parliament by monitoring the activities of the Oli-led government minutely.

The meeting has urged the parliamentarians to pick three ministries each, informed lawmaker Prakash Rasaili Snehi to Republica online.


Under this provision, the party will form a special committee which will be responsible to assign the parliamentarians to check all portfolios and department of the incumbent government. The party will inform the portfolio of the lawmakers once it is finalized.


Meanwhile, the meeting also has decided to obstruct the parliamentary activities on Wednesday also if the party is barred to raise the questions to the PM KP Sharma Oli.


According to lawmaker Snehi the party has warned to obstruct the house activities if they are not allowed to raise the questions as per the article 219 of the House of Representative act and demanded PM to be present in the house. The party will not agree on any other options if PM will fail to present in the house.
