KATHMANDU, March 22: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to give a vote of confidence to Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jamarkattel.
Deputy parliamentary party leader of the NC Ram Krishna Chitrakar said that NC’s Bagmati Provincial Assembly Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting held in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon decided to give the vote of confidence to Jamarkattel.
He added that the meeting also decided to form the provincial government in consensus among the coalition partners at the center.
After the RPP quit the government in Bagmati Province, Chief Minister Jamarkattel now has to take the vote of confidence as per the provisions in the constitution. A Province assembly meeting was called to discuss this issue on Wednesday. But the provincial assembly members of the Nepali Congress are in Kathmandu and were not able to attend the meeting in Hetaunda.
There is a possibility that the provincial assembly meeting will be postponed. However, the Parliament Secretariat has not adjourned the meeting yet.
