“The basic principles in the constitution including fundamental rights, structure of future state and the future governing system will be sent to districts within two days to seek the opinion from the public and party workers,” said Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, chief of publicity department of the party.
Mahat said the concept paper of the constitution will be sent to the district committees directly as well as through Constituent Assembly members who are visiting the districts next week.
Party’s CWC member Chakra Bastola-led panel has prepared basic principles of the constitution and Vice-Chairman Gopal Man Shrestha-led panel is set to finalize the model of future state structure by coming Wednesday. The meeting is still under way.
Though the CWC meeting on Friday approved the parliamentary party statute paving the way for electing its leader, the election is not likely to take place in the near future. "Since all the Constituent Assembly members are going to the villages soon to collect public opinion, it will take some time to hold parliamentary party election," said party Spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC.
Several members in the meeting also demanded that the party hold its general convention at the earliest to re-energize party activists. Most of the members also urged the party not to agree with the Maoist-led government to share local body seats and demand a fresh election instead.
