KATHMANDU, Oct 30:  Changing its previous decision to give the constituency to Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) candidate Rajendra Lingden, Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to field Krishna Prasad Sitaual under the First Past the Post (FPTP) electoral system from Jhapa 3.

According to NC leader Bal Krisna Khand, the decision was taken as per the wishes of Sitaula. Earlier, Sitaula had been put in the party's proportional representation list. His name will be removed from the list as the parties concerned can amend the list till Monday.

NC leaders said discussions are underway to support Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) leader Ashok Rai  in Sunsari 1 and put NC leader Meen Bahadur Bishwakarma in the proportional list.

There are opinions within NC that it would be easy for NC candidates to secure victory in the remaining three constituencies in Sunsari district if the party could secure FSFN support there.
