KATHMANDU, April, 21: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has held talks with India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swararaj  in the Indian capital New Delhi on Thursday.

Deuba, who is currently in India for the treatment of his wife Arzoo Deuba, has held talks with External Affairs Minister Swaraj, a source said.

Deuba, who is visiting India for the first time after being elected president of Nepali Congress, has met with the high level leader of India. This meeting has been viewed as meaningful at a time when Oli-government is not liked by India.

Prior to flying to India, Deuba had said that his India visit would not be political. Arzoo Deuba is receiving treatment at Gurgaon-based Fortis Hospital in New Delhi.

Earlier, Deuba had told media persons, " I have no plans to meet Indian leaders."

Deuba's meetings in New Delhi are being arranged by NC leader Pradip Giri, a source said.
