BHAKTAPUR, May 10: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba met with CPN (UML) chairman KP Sharma Oli at latter's private residence at Balkot in Bhaktapur today.
Deuba is reported to have reached Oli's house at 11:30 today for a meeting. The around one-hour meeting dwelt on current political issues including that of holding local level elections by bringing disgruntled Madhes-based political parties on board, said Oli's private secretary Anish Dahal.
During the meeting, Deuba urged Oli to help in the constitution amendment, an issue the Madhes-centric parties have been demanding as their precondition to join the polls, he said.
In response, Oli stressed the need for bringing new budget before the second phase of elections takes place (slated for June 14) while committing to give a continuation for consultations for agreement and underscoring the need to seek solutions to the political stalemate through discussions with other political parties, Dahal informed.
